Camilla has been  working as a parent educator for 20 years. She has four children who are 23, 20, 17 and 15 years old. They have given her invaluable experience in the work she does, alongside her professional training.

In 2000, she went to parenting classes herself because both she and her husband, Paul, were struggling to manage their eldest child who was three years old at the time. Whilst delightful and entertaining, he could also be defiant, un-cooperative and aggressive. Camilla felt that her lack of parenting tools meant that the pleasure and joy of being a parent was reduced. The skills she learnt in the classes proved absolutely invaluable. Over a period of three months their son transformed. The change in his behaviour was marked and the teachers at his nursery school were intrigued to witness it.

A short while later Camilla started training to become a parent facilitator. Over the years of raising her children, Camilla has been so thankful to have a range of tools and solutions at her fingertips in order to steer her children through the teenage years and into adulthood. Her children regularly validate her for the excellent job she has done as a parent!

Prior to parenting, Camilla’s background was in training and development. She ran a consultancy working with the staff within a number of large banks and management consultancies, including PWC, Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Co. She worked with individuals and teams, teaching ways to increase personal effectiveness and motivation to improve productivity. This experience has dovetailed perfectly with working with parents; it has enhanced her effectiveness and maximised positive outcomes for her parenting clients.

"Camilla is someone who has very high standards of professionalism and takes enormous care with any task she undertakes. She is thoughtful and reflective as an individual. During the time I have known her, she has supported us in many ways including at times taking on tasks which have required her to go out of her way for us - and always with the utmost good grace." Geethika Jaytilaka, Director Parent Gym

Camilla first trained in parenting skills at the New Learning Centre in West Hampstead and has subsequently trained extensively with Bonnie Harris and attended many CPD courses. In 2000 she started leading courses with Melissa Hood with whom she co-founded a company called The Parent Practice. Camilla  was a director, senior facilitator and head of marketing full time at The Parent Practice until 2009.

She founded My Parenting Solutions in 2010 where she has focussed her work on her private practice giving one to one consultations and delivering online courses. She primarily focusses on helping parents of the under 5s and teaches a gentle, compassionate, collaborative approach to raising children.

She is a senior volunteer leading parenting classes on behalf of an organisation called Parent Gym. These classes, run at schools in less affluent areas of London, are for parents who are often raising their children in very challenging situations. Camilla continues to attend a wide variety parenting courses to keep her skills fresh.

Camilla is also a qualified Early Years teacher and when working in a nursery environment found that the positive parenting skills she teaches were invaluable when dealing with the children.

""Camilla, I have to thank you for many things. Thanks to you my life has changed a lot. Life with my girls is a lot easier and every day I feel more proud to be their mum and more confident in confronting daily obstacles. I realised that with your programme, life is easier and I can say that I feel more relaxed facing situations that in the past used to terrify me. I will never forget the help that you have given me. With sincere gratitude, a very happy mother.""

""Following Camilla’s approach and preparing well, my son told me “ I don’t want to wear nappies anymore, I want to wear pants”. Day one of potty training we had a few accidents but by day two Alex was asking to use the potty. I couldn’t believe it!!! It has been such a positive experience since and he is so proud of himself. I sincerely would recommend Camilla and her approach, it has shown me that positive parenting is about empowering your child to reach their goals in a confident and positive way.""

"I first attended Camilla's classes six years ago when my youngest children were three-year-old twins. I also had three older children. I actually thought I knew quite a lot about raising happy children as I had already been to another parenting course. Boy, was I wrong! Camilla taught me a huge amount, weaving her practical tips with her own experience and vast reading, as well as her innate wisdom and compassion to come up with wonderful solutions to the sort of challenges I was facing. In fact, I was so grateful to Camilla that our group of six mums continued working with her after we had completed our initial course for a further year as there was still more to learn! I would highly recommend her course to any parent, at any stage of their parenting life.""

"I really value the sessions I had with Camilla. I came away with a toolbox which is useful in emergency situations and for those everyday issues that arise whilst bringing up children. Camilla imparted tips, gave out wisdom, was and is discreet, practical and non-judgemental. And when I remember her words of wisdom, my kids are way better off for them."
